Terms of Sale
Last updated: [DATE]
These terms cover buying and using a LahzaJournal licence. Using the free version of the app doesn't require agreeing to anything beyond normal use of a piece of software you downloaded — this page mainly matters once money changes hands.
What you're buying
A one-time payment of $14.99 USD unlocks unlimited moment captures in LahzaJournal, on every device you install it on, forever. There is no subscription, no recurring charge, and no expiry. You're paying for a licence to use the software, not for a copy of your data — your data was always yours, free tier or not.
How the licence works
On purchase, you're issued a licence key by email. Pasting it into the app under Settings → Unlock removes the 30-moment free-capture limit on that device. The same key works on every device you personally use the app on. Licence keys are yours to keep; please don't share or resell them — they're tied to your purchase, not sold per-device, and licensed to you personally for your own use.
Payment processing
All payments are handled by Paddle.com Inc., who act as the Merchant of Record for this sale — meaning your transaction is legally with Paddle, not directly with us, and Paddle's own terms govern the purchase itself, including how taxes are calculated and charged. We set the price and receive the proceeds; Paddle handles the transaction, your receipt, and payment security.
Refunds
[PLACEHOLDER — pick one and delete the other two:]
- Option A (generous, common for low-price indie software): We offer a full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. Contact support@lahzajournal.com or use Paddle's own refund request flow from your receipt email.
- Option B (standard): Refunds are handled case-by-case — contact support@lahzajournal.com with your order details and we'll take a look.
- Option C (strict, riskier for trust): All sales are final except where required by law in your jurisdiction.
Warranty disclaimer
LahzaJournal is provided "as is." We've tested it thoroughly, but we can't promise it's bug-free or that it will always meet your needs. [PLACEHOLDER — a lawyer should confirm this paragraph's wording for your jurisdiction before launch], particularly around the extent liability can be limited in a consumer sale.
Your data, regardless of purchase
Nothing in this purchase changes how your data is handled — see the Privacy Policy. Your journal stays on your device whether or not you ever buy a licence, and nothing about the purchase flow gives us access to it.
Courses
Courses are made and shared by teachers, not by us, and we don't review them. If you make or share a course, you're responsible for what's in it: you need the right to use everything you include, and you must not copy textbooks, exam papers, songs or other people's work. You keep ownership of what you write. We don't charge for or collect payment on courses that teachers share or sell themselves, and any such sale is between the teacher and the learner.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Continuing to use a version you already own doesn't require re-agreeing to anything — these terms mainly govern the purchase itself.
Governing law
[PLACEHOLDER — your country/state of residence or business registration; a lawyer should confirm this is the right choice for a Paddle-as-merchant-of-record sale]
