Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DATE]
LahzaJournal is built to need almost none of your data, and to collect none of it. This policy is short because there isn't much to say.
The app itself
LahzaJournal runs entirely on your device. Every phrase, photo, voice note, tag and review you capture is stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB), never uploaded anywhere. There is no account, no login, and no server that ever sees your journal. If you export a backup file, that file is written directly to your own device — we never receive a copy.
Because your journal lives on your device, keeping it safe is partly in your hands: anyone who can unlock your phone or computer can open the app, just like your photos or notes. Use a screen lock, and keep backup files somewhere private — they are ordinary readable files, so anyone who has one can read your journal.
If you send a moment as a link, its text (the phrase, translation, language and note) is packed into the link itself, after the “#”. Browsers never send that part to our server, so we never see it — but anyone you give the link to can read it. Photos, audio, place and tags are never included.
We do not use analytics, trackers, or advertising of any kind. We do not know how many people use this app, what they capture, or how often they open it.
If you buy a licence
Buying LahzaJournal involves exactly two pieces of information leaving your device, and nothing else:
- Payment details, handled entirely by Paddle.com Inc., our payment processor and the seller of record for your purchase. We never see or store your card details — Paddle does, under their own privacy policy.
- Your email address, used once, to send you your licence key. It is never stored in plain form after that — the key itself is built from a one-way hash of your email, not the address, so even we can't recover it from a licence key. We keep no customer database; a transaction id and whether an email was successfully sent is the only record kept, and it contains no personal information.
If you ever lose your licence key, our recovery flow looks up your purchase by email with Paddle directly and re-sends the same key — we still never store your address ourselves.
Third parties
- Cloudflare — hosts this site and serves the app's files, fonts included. Like any web host it sees your IP address when your device loads them; it never sees your journal. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Paddle — payment processing, tax handling, and receipts. See Paddle's privacy policy.
- Resend — delivers the one licence-key email at purchase time. See Resend's privacy policy.
Paddle and Resend are used for nothing except completing your purchase and delivering your key.
The app is built with open-source software and fonts; their licenses are listed in third-party notices.
Your rights
Since we hold essentially nothing about you, there's little to request, export, or delete on our end — your journal already lives only on your own device, under your own control, and you can erase it entirely at any time from Settings. For anything related to your purchase itself (refunds, receipts, payment data), contact Paddle directly, or reach us at support@lahzajournal.com and we'll help.
Changes
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change with it. We won't make it collect more without saying so, plainly, here.
